
| The fisheries of our area offer some of the best fly fishing opportunities in the Southeast region. Our guiding waters include in high country first order creeks for wild brookies, browns and rainbows in medium size mountain and foothill streams and the Holston and Watauga TVA tailwaters in nearby NE Tennessee. We also offer Hyde Boat drift trips on the tailwaters for trout and for smallmouth bass on the New and James River. |

Introductory Trips / Fly Fishing Lessons

Want to get in the water and find out what fly fishing is all about? Our introductory trips on a stream or tailwater cover the basics of casting, fundamental knots, equipment, wading safety and we leave plenty of time for the fun of fly fishing. Or maybe you just finished your dry land casting lesson and now want to learn to fish. Our professional guides will teach you basic fishing skills in a stream or tailwater covering fishing the dry fly and nymph fishing, line control methods, fishing out the cast techniques, stealth tactics, and the “what to do’s” after a fish takes the fly. Rental wading apparel and tackle available.

Guided Walk-In Trips

Our
professional guided trips are on a year-round basis.
Our tailwater fishing can be very good for the winter months of
November through March. We
also offer Introductory outings and fishing lessons on the water.
Rental waders & tackle available.
We also specialize in corporate/group outings
and prefer a maximum of 2 anglers per guide.

Our guide service offers rental Simms Gore-Tex waders and wading shoes available in most sizes for $20/pp; rod/reel/line rentals for $12/pp.
Licenses are not included but can be purchased for the angler in advance of trip.
All trips are fly fishing only and all fish will be released. Photos of the fly fishing experience are provided as part of the trip fee.
Box lunches can be arranged in advance upon request.
$50 deposit required to reserve trip date.
